Douglas County Video Tour

Douglas County Health Department Air Quality specialists monitor ambient air quality for the EPA’s Clean Air Act (CAA) six criteria pollutants. The following is a list of services offered and performed by DCHD air quality specialists and laboratory scientist/air pollution:

Monitor air quality for carbon monoxide (CO), sulfur dioxide (SO2), ground level ozone (O3), nitric oxides (NO, NOdiff and NOy) particulate matter (PM10 and PM2.5), and lead.

  • Monitor air quality for PM2.5 using the chemical speciation network.
  • Educate homeowners, renters and the public regarding indoor air issues, focusing primarily in mold in the home.
  • Local pollen count is measured and reported seasonally.

Services that we DO NOT perform:

Testing or remediation for the following indoor air issues: carbon monoxide, mold, radon, or asbestos. Testing and remediation can be provided by local, licensed business.

  • Enforcement of air quality regulations or permitting for business or local industry. Contact the City of Omaha Public works division of Air Quality Control at 402.444.6015
