Rally for a Healthy City is Wednesday

Live Well Omaha- Douglas County Putting Prevention to Work is hosting the Rally for a Healthy City at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 27, at the Omaha/Douglas Civic Center, just east of 19th and Farnam Streets.
The rally will promote the steps this community’s has taken to improve its overall health,
“This community is getting healthier by the day, and that is something in which we all can be proud,” said Mary Balluff, Division Chief for Community Health and Nutrition with the Douglas County Health Department. “There are a lot of new things happening in Douglas County and Omaha. Come on down and feel the energy.”
Speakers will include Chamber of Commerce President David Brown, Omaha Mayor Jim Suttle and Douglas County Health Director Dr. Adi Pour, plus community members who are energizing new ways of living with healthier stores, community gardens, bicycling and active living.
The Rally for a Healthy City will be followed by a walk through downtown Omaha, coordinated by the City of Omaha and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska as part of National Walk at Lunch Day.
