Immunization Assessment

The purpose of the program is to assess the immunization levels of preschool children served by public and private providers in Douglas County and the State of Nebraska. The ultimate goal in conducting immunization assessments is to achieve and maintain high immunization levels among young children, thereby reducing the incidence of vaccine preventable diseases.

The objectives of assessment are:

• To inform the immunization provider about the immunization status of their clients
  
• To understand how clinical practice and policies at the provider level can impact the immunization status of the clients.
  
• To suggest ways of implementing and/or modifying practices to ensure that their clients are adequately immunized.
