Dental Clinic

The Douglas County Dental Clinic provides service to children living in Douglas County. Your child can receive dental care if you don’t have dental insurance through your job or disability, if you meet income guidelines, or if you have TANF, Medicaid or Kids Connection. Please see below for other child and adult services and if you will need to pay for them.

PERSONS WHO CAN RECEIVE CARE IN THE DENTAL CLINIC

ELIGIBILITY GUIDELINES

Children:

a. living in Douglas County
b. between 2 and 18 years of age
c. who meet income guidelines

There is a charge per child each year unless you receive TANF or Kids Connection and do not have your own dental insurance.

Your insurance company does not receive a bill for services you receive.

There is an additional charge for treating a toothache that was not related to your original treatment plan.

SERVICES OFFERED: Operative* and Preventive** Dentistry

Douglas County Health Center Residents:

Patients who live in the Douglas County Health Center

SERVICES OFFERED: Operative, Prosthetic (dentures, partials) and Preventive
Dentistry

Primary Health Care Patients:

a. who are APPROVED (General Assistance) Primary Health Care Patients
b. who are referred by their Primary Health Care Doctor

SERVICES OFFERED: Emergencies ONLY to include teeth being filled or pulled

5 East/Psychiatric Outpatients:

a. admitted patients at Douglas County Health Center
b. referred by a 5E Physician

SERVICES OFFERED: Emergencies ONLY to include filling or pulling teeth

Douglas County Youth Center Patients:

a. admitted to the Youth Center
b. referred by the Youth Center Nurse

SERVICES OFFERED: Emergencies ONLY -- filling or pulling teeth

Services are at no charge.

A health history needs to accompany the patient to the dental clinic.

Community Outreach

Oral Hygiene and Oral Care Inservices available upon request .

Your initial visit is for an exam and X-rays only.
*Operative Dentistry is having a tooth filled, crowned or pulled.

**Preventive Dentistry includes brushing instructions, fluoride treatments and sealants.
