Women,
Infants, and Children (WIC)
Program Information
WIC
is a program for women,
infants and children. WIC provides ideas on fixing healthy meals
and snacks. It is important for pregnant women, women who have had
a baby in the last year, and children up to the age of five to eat meals
and snacks that include all the basic food groups every day. WIC
also provides checks that you use at your local store to help you buy
the food items that your family needs to eat better.
Calls are screened
through the Douglas/Sarpy WIC Main Office in downtown Omaha. The
number is (402) 444-1770. If you can enroll in WIC, you are given
the number for the clinic of your choice. You do not have to go
to the clinic in the area where you live. You must make an appointment
so WIC can see if you or your child has a problem with eating right.
